Fellowship
United Nations and European Union Research - Where Global Governance is Taking Shape
The Center for United Nations Constitutional Research is now accepting applications for resident fellowships at our headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. CUNCR fellows will have the opportunity to devote time to a research project on a topic related to global governance, while working and living in the heart of Europe. Brussels is ideally situated for fellows to experience and be in close proximity to a supra-national state in the making, allowing access to open debates at the EU Parliament, EU officials, the European Union library, and reports published by the EU bodies. In addition, Brussels’ close proximity to London, Paris, Geneva, and The Hague renders all the academic and international organizations, and the UN institutions active in the region, easily accessible.

Fellows will spend up to three months producing a research paper as well as attending lectures and workshops organized by CUNCR and its partner organizations. Opportunities to visit international organizations in Brussels and The Hague, such as the European Parliament and International Criminal Court, will be arranged.
CUNCR fellowships are open to individuals who have recently completed or are in the final stages of their doctorate; post-docs; and practitioners of international law; and have a strong academic or professional background related to international law, global governance, and the United Nations.

We are pleased to announce that a small number of fellowship positions will be fully sponsored for a full three-month period, through the Joseph E. Schwartzberg Workable World Trust Fellowship Program, and the John Sutter Fellowship Program. Top-quality candidates will therefore be able to participate as fellows with their living costs covered.
Due to the limited number of fully sponsored spots available, candidates who are able to cover their own costs for the duration of the fellowship are also encouraged to apply. Candidates who are only interested in the fully sponsored fellowships should so indicate in their application. A limited number of 1-month resident fellowships are also available; for qualifications and fees please write to us.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and starting dates can be negotiated. Fellows are responsible for travel to and from Brussels. Letters of invitation for visa purpose can be made available on request.
